Exchange Mergers
“Time” magazine says that Wall Street insiders are talking about the end of the New York Stock Exchange and other exchanges as separate entities, and their merger into one great, national exchange. “As a first step the New York and American exchanges may merge entirely in the next few years," the magazine’s latest Issue reported. “However far fetched it may seem, some _ Wall Streeters argue that a ’ combined exchange should become a non profit foundation: members would not buy seats but earn them through competitive examinations.
