Condemnation Of Nudism

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) CASTEL GANDOLFO, August 17.

Pope Paul said yesterday that the movement towards nudism and the glorification | of the body was becoming a social epidemic which threatened the quality of life. I Addressing pilgrims at his Sunday midday blessing, the Pontiff said: “We see today, in increasingly uncontrolled demonstrations, an attempt to make the body the first priority of life. To the point, particularly in recent days, of the exaltation of nudism, eroticism and Tree-love.’ Those who follow the newspapers know what we allude. “The result is that animal man degrades himself more and more, and without limits. “In this case it is not surprising that egoism, delinquency and drugs are taking the upper hand in life. These unfortunate things are becoming a social epidemic that is lowering and saddening the quality of life.”
