AUCKLAND, July 26. One of the two huge British container groups, Overseas Containers, Ltd, will spend more than $3O million developing the container terminals at the ports of Auckland and Wellington. One-third of this cost would go into building refrigeration stacks for storing insulated containers, said the general manager of Overseas Containers (N.Z.), Ltd, Mr S. McAllum, in Auckland today The stack in Auckland would be built on the Auckland Harbour Board’s 20-acre site behind Fergusson Wharf. It would have 600 slots for the 20ft containers. The Wellington stack would oe able to store 900.

“We hope to start work in Auckland in the middle of next year, and hope to have the stack ready for the introduction of the United King-dom-New Zealand service in mid-1973,” he said.
