Russia Ahead In Athletics

Russia led the United States by 103 points to 78 after the opening day of their athletics match at Leningrad yesterday.
Russia headed the men's events by 55 points to 52, and its women led the American women, 48-26.
Supporters* Head.—Mr W. D« Johnston has been elected chairman of the organising commit* tee of the Canterbury Rugby Supporters’ Club. He was one of the stalwart workers for the formation of the club.
