Study Tour By Nurse

fN Z. Presa Association) AUCKLAND, July 20. In Auckland today on the first stage of a New Zealand study tour was Dr Helen Carpenter, who was invited by the Government to report on the New Zealand system of basic nursing education. She has been director of the University of Toronto School of Nursing since 1962. Today she met members of the Auckland Medical School staff and Health Department officers. Tomorrow she will spend all day at Auckland Hospital and on Wednesday will visit Waikato University. She will visit Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown.

Woman Cltlzana.—A history of the work done by the women’s branch of the Christchurch Citizens’ and Ratepayers’ Association will be prepared by the Immediate past-president (Mrs H. E. Bradley), says a report from the annual meeting of the branch. Branch officers are: patroness, the Mayoress (Mrs A. R. Guthrey; life members, Mesdames L. Buckley and W. S. Grigg,- president. Mrs V. D. Purchas; vice-president, Mrs J. Russell: Immediate past-presi-dent. Mrs H. E. Radley; secretary and treasurer. Mrs C. Merrln: committee, Mesdames C. H. C. Brown, P. C. Browne. L. Buckley, M. E.
