Record Cargoes through Port in 1969 In 1969, Lyttelton Harbour handled a record 1,750,090 tons of cargo. To ease the pressure and improve the handling of import/export bulk cargoes, the Lyttelton Harbour Board has opened the first issue of a $750,000 development loan to finance extensions to Cashin Quay. Canterbury’s prosperity is directly affected by Lyttelton’s efficiency, so a lively response is expected from the public, especially since the improved interest rates announced in the new budget. Prospectuses are now available at all sharebrokers, banks, etc., or direct from the Treasurer, Lyttelton Harbour Board, P.O. Box 2108, Christchurch. L 9
