‘Unrealistic And Unfair’

The Christchurch Transport Board regards as “unrealistic and unfair” the fee for the fire service connection to its premises at Fitzgerald Avenue.

The board was told yesterday that the fee had jumped from $4 to $lOO. The chairman of the finance committee (Mr S. E. Boanas) said his committee considered that to increase a fire service connection fee 25 times was unrealistic and unfair.

‘Tor this fantastic increase we get nothing extra,” he said.
