Kirkness To Play Murphy B. D. Kirkness and K. Murphy, who in recent years have spent many hours together in billiards and snooker competition, will meet tonight in the final of the Canterbury snooker championship. Kirkness, the defending champion and No. 1 seed, qualified for the final last averting when he beat R. Franks in four frames. Murphy, the No. 2 seed, also required four frames to beat T. Kafll irt the other semi-ilnfll. Franks, who found Immediate potting form, took the first frame against Kirkness fslfiv comfortably add was narrowly beaten id the second. At one stage of the third frame Frank* led. 43-S. but Kirkdess pocketed al) the colours to win narrowly. Kirkness held his form in ths fourth frame and after potting the green, browh and blue balls won by almost 40 points.
