A record player worth $l5O was stolen from Burnside High School, Greers Road, on Sunday. In other recent burglaries $ll6 was taken from a house in Burlington Street, jewellery Worth $lOO was taken from a house in Kellys Road, $lBO was taken from a house in Ontario Place, $ll5 was taken from a house in Hartley Avenue, ahd a heater worth $3O wag taken from Modulite Industries, Ltd, 56 Shortland Street
Chemical* worth $4 were taken recently dm a dental Surgery in Linwood Avenue, $3 was taken from a house in Mackworth Place, coin* worth $5 wet* taken from a house in Weston Road, and 88 wa* taken from a house in Mount batten Street.
Clothing was taken when Peter Grays, Ltd, Stanmore Road, was burgled during toe week-end, coal and an alarm clock, of a total value of $6.18,
were taken from the Point Elizabeth Coal company, Clarence Street, $1.50 was taken from Pacific Scrap, Ltd, McAlpine Avenue, cigarette* were taken from the Nancy Avenue Dairy, and $5.50 was taken from Hurricane Wire Products, Gayhurst Road.
The Central Carrying Company, Ltd, 87 Brisbane Street, was broken into recently but it is not yet known what was stolen.
The poor box and abbut $8 was Stolen on Sunday from the Roman Catholic church in Somme Street
The police ware also called during toe week-ehd to investigate a number Of reports Where premises had been burgled but nothing was reported as missing. Obe of those burglaries occurred at the premises of toe Prisoners Aid and Rehabilitation Centre, of Canterbury and toe West Coast, Simeon Street
