Hoover Makes Claim (N.Z.P, A. 'Reuter—Copyright > WASHINGTON, July 14 The F. 8.1. chief. Mr J Edgar Hoover, said yesterday that foreign groups lit Arab guerrillas were influen ing the Black Panther part; and that prominent Amen cans were helping to finance this militant Black Power organisation. ' In a report on F. 8.1. activities during the last year, Mr Hoover said: “Foreign in!fluences (are) now making [inroads in certain black extremist groups in the United States, particularly the Black Panthers." j He said that the Panthers had close ties with the Al Fatah Arab guerrilla organisation through the party’s Information Minister, Mr Eldridge Cleaver, who now lives in Algiers.
