Returned to form when he won middle distance at Matamata last Saturday, finishing solidly. Tough and seasoned so should go well again here, even though up 81b. D. Peake. 2— NIPAWIN (1) 8-3. One of the best mudlarks when in top form. Had setback before last-start failure at Avondale, and very likely is the better for the- run. In top form would be the one to beat. R. Skelton. 3— LLANACE (20) 8-2. Has shown good form on this course and over this distance. Weakened last start at Avondale on July 4, but race could have improved him. Worth attention. G. .Edge. 4— 720 b BEVLYN (5) 8-1. Failed last start at Avondale on July 4 after losing rider in middle distance at Tauranga on June 20. Previously good second in Te Awamutu Cup. Has done well here and must surely be forward in spite of absence from racing. 8— HEAD FANCY (2) 7-12. Former useful handicap mare which is finding it hard to regain form. Ran very moderately over a middle distance at Matamata last Saturday. Could not be fancied on that. 9— NATIVE DIVER (3) 7-12. Failed disappointingly last start at Avondale on July 4, after promising run at Tauranga on June 20. Once a very good stayer and not too old yet to make a comeback. 10—4830 FUNDANUI (6) 7-12. Good effort two starts back behind Mimi’s Boy and Escameno at Awapuni on June 13 but since well back at Hastings on. June 27. Form mainly patchy. 12—0403 BRYGAN (19) 7-11. Battled on gamely over lOf at Te Rapa on Wednesday and earlier was fourth at

Made ground over 10 furlongs at Te Rapa on Wednesday although a fair way back at the finish.
