Rugby Classes To Start

A scheme aimed at bringing Rugby coaches In Canterbury up to the mark In their approach to the game wil be launched at Lancaster Park tomorrow night. The Canterbury Rugby Union s "coaching school for coaches” will consist of one session a week for the next four weeks and will cater for coaches of primary and secondary school teams and club sides.

Bach session wil consist of an address by a guest speaker, who wil also answer questtons, and the screening of Rugby alms.

Mr L. S. Kirk, the senior coaching instructor of the Canterbury Rugby Referees’ Association, will address the first meeting tomorrow on the laws of the game.

Two former AH Blacks of long standing. Messrs D. Young and O J. Graham, will deal with scrummaging and line-out play on July 22 and July 29. respectively.

The fourth speaker will be Mr P. D. Clark, a Canterbury B selector, who will deal with aspects of back play.

Shield On Tour. —The Canterbury Rugby captain <l. H. Penrose) and the vice-captain (L. J. Davis) will visit schools In Canterbury. displaying and talking about the Ranfurly Sheild, during Education Week next week.
