Power Board Chairman

The deputy-chairman (Mr L. F. Chamberlain) was yesterday elected- chairman of the Central Canterbury Electric Power Board, to fill the vacancy caused by the death last month of Mr P. G. Wedderell. Mr W. A. Newton, a former chairman, was elected deputy-chairman. Mr Chamberlain paid a tribute to Mr Wedderell, saying he had given many years of service to the community, and had brought a wealth of experience to the board. Mr Newton and Mr W. H.
