Rossall Street Corner
Sir, —Mr Secular’s reply to “J.L.D.” would possibly be correct on the drawings avail-, able to him of the current Rossall Street deviation. What he does not seem to be aware of is Mr Fardell’s recent incredible placing of both bus stops involved—no doubt with his bus drivers’ vision in mind, but certainly nobody else’s.—Yours, etc., WOTCHER. July 1, 1970. [Mr J. F. Fardell, general manager of the Christchurch Transport Board, replies- “ Work at this intersection isstill in progress and when completed will show an improvement The incidence of buses being on these stops and any wrong request stops is not high, but naturally bus stops have to be located in available spaces while the work proceeds to meet the needs of bus passengers. It behoves all persons, pedestrians and drivers, to exercise care under these conditions during the progress of the works.”]
