LAND PREPARATION.—Tractors with blades at work levelling land for irrigation on the 1040 acres property of Mr F. W. Newton, close to the North Ashburton river at Ashburton Forks. Tractors with blades have been found preferable to a road grader for the main levelling job on this property, much of which is former riverbed country.
