There have been many conflicting reports on central heating running costs and the wise buyer would do well to refer to an independent, authoritative source before purchasing central heating, Such a source is the most excellent summary provided by an independent expert to the public meeting convened by the Christchurch Regional Planning Authority late last year. Apart from enclosed down draft space heaters (which cannot really bq regarded as central heating), oil-fired heating has by far the lowest annual running cost
