Leakage Feared

(N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA, June 29. He had more fears about leakages to the public of his latest Budget than any other he had prepared, the Minister of Finance (Mr Muldoon) said in Taupo at the weekend. “It was constantly in my mind before Budget day that a leak was a possibility,” Mr Muldoon said. “This thought was there because sweeping changes in taxation procedures were being introduced. “We did tighten our security' a little, and I am sure there was no leakage, although there were some very good guesses by expert journalists with regard to the payroll tax. “It is most gratifying for me to be able to say that, with all the people who had absolute knowledge of the new taxation procedures, there was no leakage.”
