Salary Rise Criticised

(N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, June 28. Academic staff at Massey University have expressed concern that after salary rises for academic staff in New Zealand and Australia the gap between the two countries is increasing. About 50 members of the staff attended a meeting to discuss the salary increases announced last week. The meeting was told that under the old scales of both countries there was a 41 per cent difference in professors’ salaries. Under the new scales the difference was 44 per cent.
