Town Wins Table Tennis
With matches even at 48-all, Town beat Country by 119 games to 112 in the annual table tennis contest on Saturday evening. In the men’s matches, Town was superior, winning 27-9. with the A Reserve ; grade champion, J. Baxter, leading the No. 1 team with three singles wins. Also unbeaten in the men’s matches were B. Heseltine, H. iSargent, G. Ripley, and B. A. i Littler. The women's section was! | won by Country. 22-14. For! ITown, Mrs E. Littler was the. only player to gain threei (singles wins, while for (Country Mrs I. Bishop, Mrs] ID. Giles, Miss M. Bell, and! i Mrs Y. Bell remained unI beaten in singles play. i In the junior match, Town! (drew with Country. 6-all, in the boys’ section, while Country won the girls’ section, 11-1.
