Japanese Look At Lyttelton

Four officials of the Sumitomo Mining Company of : Japan, who have been on the West Coast investigating ilmenite deposits, on Friday met the chairman of the Lyttelton Harbour Board (Mr F. ’ll. Sutton) and officers of the board. Japanese companies have been investigating coal and other mineral deposits in Buller and Westland for the last four years and they have been considering contributing towards the cost of making all-weather ports on the ■ West Coast.
