Small Boat Rescued

The Sumner lifeboat Rescue II towed a small fishing boat to safety after it was seen drifting off Clifton Beach at 3.30 p.m. yesterday. The 16ft double-ended boat, which is not named, is owned by Mr J. G. Wallace of Christchurch. It was moored at Redcliffs, and drifted over the bar with the outgoing tide. It was picked up about half a mile from shore, between Shag Rock and Cave Rock. No-one was on board.
