Tree Stump
Sir, —One other method of iealing with tree stumps, not mentioned by your gardening :orrespondent, but used by an expert who has felled some of lhe most difficult trees in Christchurch, is to dig round [he tree to a sufficient depth !o manipulate a chain saw and !Ut through the tree below ground level. Poison, if neceslary, cover the roots with >oil, and there you have a teat, tidy job and no stump visible at all.—Yours, etc., O. HUGHES. June 12, 1970.
