Grooming Courses Are Popular
(By NORMAN HARTNELL) LONDON.
Grooming courses have never been so popular. These courses are timed so that most housewives and career-women can attend without disturbing their normal routine. Normally, about 15 students are assigned to a class, and the teacher is often a former model, who has the knack of pointing out faults without sounding too critical. At an over-30 grooming
course I recently attended as a judge, every aspect of top-to-toe grooming was touched on: make-up, hairstyling, manicure and deportment, plus “how to behave on a big social occasion."
it may sound odd for a woman of over 30 to need to be taught bow to take a coat off elegantly, and how to manage an umbrella, handbag and gloves, but once you see these actions performed by a graceful model, you realise how clumsy most women are.
