PROTECTION FOR INDOOR PLANTS

This is the time of year when indoor plants are particularly susceptible to attacks by insect pests. But this year there’s a new answer to the pest problem: a natural plant pesticide in aerosol form. Manufactured by Shariand and Co., Ltd, of Wellington, this powerful new spray is known as Acton. It can now be purchased from chemists, garden suppliers, and most hardware stores. When sprayed directly onto pests. Acton kills sucking insects such as rose aphids, leaf hoppers, white flies; chewing insects such as caterpillars and beetles; and is very effective against ants. It can also be used outdoors on chrysanthemums, roses, sweetpeas, cabbages, tomatoes, and ornamental evergreens (to name only a few). As well as the fact that it comes in spray form, one of the outstanding things about Acton is that it is a completely natural pesticide. These things, together with the power of its action, promise to make new Acton a favourite with gardeners and households with pot plants this winter. —Advt
