(Jailant fifth in Cornwall under 9-4. Still has hefty weight for one of his size but much too capable to reject o>n that count alone. D. Peake. 5 9150 GENE (4), 4-4. Well back over a mile at Te Rapa on May 16. Best on firm ground but high class galloper which might make presence felt If going no worse than easy. R. Lena. 4 5112 AHJAY (10), 5-11. Grand effort for second in Cornwall Handicap. At very • high peak and should again be hard to down. G. Hughes. 5 R 424 ROGAHHE (•), 4-3. Ran on in last race, over 11 furlongs at Te Rapa on May 16. Fast finishing second Mme before to Skint Dip over 10 furlongs. Has attractive record on this course and should be considered. G. Edge. 4 RIM CAMBRIDGE FAIR (5), 4-4. Useful fourth in mile at Ellerslie on June 1. Two starts before won over 7 furlongs at Te Rapa. Has failed before over middle distance but at an age where he should manage this journey. R. Taylor. 7 4000 HONOURBRIGHT (14) 7-13.—Weakened to tenth in Cornwall Handicap in first run past a mile since the spring. Steadily coming to top form, drifting in weights and so should be considered. B. Andrews. • M 44 BLUE WINTER (23) 7-14. Splendid fourth in Cornwall in only recent attempt past a mile. Has looked better in each start since return from long spell and must be one of the hardest to beat. I. Rowe.

9 e»0 OLWYN ANN (11) 7-10. Capable mudlark but may need further racing before showing best. Only recent race was mile at Ellerslie on May 30 in which she was well beaten. M. Long. 19 10n ROSEHILL (15) 7-10. Lost chance at start of Cornwall by giving away about six lengths. Won over a mile very well two starts back at Te Rapa. Should be J* ve J f “ rther chance U MM ALCANTUS (9) 7-9. Finished eleventh in Cornwall Handicap but should be much improved by the race. This course might not suit him. however.

12 5000* GAY COLLEEN (25) 7-0. Has not raced since April 22 and has drawn very badly. Won the Ohinemuri Cuj> in March. W. Card13 MOO HEAD FANCY (20) 7-0. Poor race for seventeenth at Rotorua on May 23 last time out. Smart in bad ground but nothing in latest form or work to suggest success here.

M 9000 NATIVE DIVER (3) 7-9. Top-class galloper which resumed racing after spell with fair eleventh at Rotorua on May 23. Might go much closer this time.

15 2408 TWITCHIT (2) 7-9. Last win was in Wellington Handicap in October when she beat Proud Chief and company most decisively. Came second to Proud Chief at Trentham in May. l>ut ran poorly both days at Wanganui in over Queen's Birthday week-end. Should be respected. M 2020 UTAH (14) 7-9. Capable but unsound galloper. Only recent race was over 7f at Te Rapa on May 9. Might need another before showing best. G. Lang 17 0057 BEVLYN (17) 7-8. Looked an improver when seventh in Cornwall Handicap. Came fifth time before at Rotorua so obviously not far off best. G. Alexander. 18 8043 CAPTAIN JEST (20). 7-8. Bold run for third in York Handicap over Im. first day of Ellerslie. That was only fourth run after spell and looked bound to improve him. Yet to try middle distance but likely type to manage it on this course, even though drawn badly. H. Riordan.

1112 LANCELOT (22) 7<B Star hack of winter having first run in open company and first beyond a mile. Won twice at Te Rapa then over mile at Ellerslie on May 30. Finished gallant second over Im. there last week. Must be fancied. G. Colven

20 4830 LORD MAC (21) 74. Faded badly to sixteenth in York Handicap over Im. at Ellerslie, on May 30 after promising form beforehand. Has not been tried very much beyond mile but no reason why he should not manage this journey. P. Rokela. 21 102 S THUNDERBALL (1) 7-8. Useful fifth behind Skint Dip over Ilf. at Te Rapa on May 16 and good second time before to Glenion in intermediate event at Te Rapa. Racing better now than for a time so should be considered. G. intermediate over Ilf very well at Paeroa on May 20. Good fifth in similar class over Im. at Ellerslie on May 30. Fair prospect. 24 3114 PROPER VERDICT (7) 7-7. Ran on well for sixth over Im. at Ellerslie on May 30 last time. In great form at the Te Rapa meeting in May when she won a hack double. Looks up to this class and a win in open debut would not be surprising. 24 7068 SUPERIOR STAR (10) 7-7. Racing like an imFirover. Came eighth in ntermediate class over Ilf. at Paeroa last time out. A useful sixth start before at Gisborne. 23 6000 NORMA’S LASS (24) 7-7. Showed speed when 11th over Ilf. at Te Rapa on May 16 but over all form poor. 22 0605 GOLDEN KING (27) 7-7. Racing well but chances of getting a run look remote. 3.45 p.m.— (T.A.D. Closes 2.35 p.m.) FLYING HANDICAP >2500; 7f. TAB. No. 1 4616 GOLD HEIGHTS (19) 0-9. Only moderate sixth over 6f at Ellerslie on June 1, but ground helped to beat her. Won nicely the time before at Rotorua. Must be big chance against relatively easy opposition. Hurdled last winter but might be good enough to pick up another snrlnt. to R 746 SECOND CHANCE (18) 8-0. Ran on well for sixth over 6f at Ellerslie on June 1 in lower grade. Bold race for fourth time before at Rotorua, behind Gold Heights. Honest mare which could he a fair prospect at weights. 20 0121 SEIKO (7) 8-0. Won nicely in lower grade over 6f at Ellerslie last Saturday and form Ln even stronger class beforehand was smart. That included win on this course and over this distance. Speedy and should be hard to head off. R. Taylor. Balloted out with right of reFLASH BY (3) 8-0. Well back in lower grade mile at Ellerslie last Saturday and fourth beforehand was in similar class there over 6f Could not be supported with confidence.
