Tax Judgment Reserved

The Judicial Committee of the Privy Council reserved judgment yesterday in a tax appeal brought by Owen Thomas Mangin, a Methven, New Zealand, farmer. He disputed liability to pay tax on income received by paddock trusts set up to benefit his wife and children. He owns a 385-acre farm used for sheep and mixed cropping.
