Country Talent Festival
i. '• Entries in the Canterbury Country Women’s Institutes and the Women’k Division of Federated Farmers festival of talent, part 11, were fewer than in previous years. However, the judges, Mesdames M. Buchanan (music), and M. Bull- (drama), found the standard of competition very high, according to a report. The festival, arranged by the Canterbury district coordinating committee and held li) Lincoln, was opened by Mrs S. M. Mackenzie, of the' regional eo-ordihating committee. The , results were: Hills-borough-Heathcote C.W.I and Burnside C.W.i.. equal. 1; Ouruhla W.D.F.F.. 3 Overall winners Of parts. I and It were: Hillsborough-Heathcote C.W.1.. 1: Ouruhia W.D.F.F., 2: Spr'ingston C W.I. and Hornbv C.W.I. equal 3.
