Nearly 1000 birds from throughout New Zealand are being exhibited at the Christchurch Poultry, Pigeon and Cage Bird Club's 103rd annual show which opened in the Christchurch Fanciers’ Hall, Selwyn Street, yesterday. This number, which is slightly less than the number shown last year, includes about 150 poultry, more than' 500 pigeons, and about 240 bantams. The African Owl pigeons and the English Owl pigeons which are very scarce in Australia impressed one of the fancy pigeon judges, Mr D. Cook, of Sydney. Mr Cook, who has been breeding Jacobin pigeons since 1952,i has received several of hiS: birds from Mr W. S. Whileside, of Christchurch. The judges were: game poultry, Mr R. J.
