IL TEMPO IN WORK
"The Press” Special Service CAMBRIDGE. 11 Tempo, the winner of the Auckland Cup and Wellington Cup (shown at left) earlier this season, is now being worked on the roads in the early stages of a new preparation which will culminate with his visit to Australia for the Melbourne Cup. 11 Tempo's owner, Mr W. R. Priscott, formerly of Hamilton, recently took over the 30-acre property at Cambridge from which the late R. L. Ftutey last year prepared his team. “11 Tempo is in terrific condition. We will keep him above himself in condition meantime in view of the sea trip coming up in August,” said Mr Priscott. Mr Priscott is keeping in touch with Mr I. McEwan, the former Tauranga secretary who is now in Melbourne, with a view to obtaining suitable quarters for II Tempo there, possibly at Mornington. Mr Priscott also has a three-year-old gelding, Bruno, by Syntax, out of Operetta, speeding up in training at Cambridge. Bruno, which races for Mrs Priscott and Mr V. Prier has been lightly tried. A half brother to the former good sprinter, Rapido. he may accompany II Tempo to Australia.
