Profit Now Higher
The net profit of M.S.D.Spiers, Ltd, for the year to March 31 rose 8.4 per cent, to $134,000, the directors reported yesterday. The preliminary announcement made on May 6 stated that the profit would be in excess of $115,000. The directors will recomimend an increase in dividend from 7.5 to 9 per cent. The higher dividend would absorb $65,428, covered twice by the profit. The directors also announce that the negotiations, which were the basis of the advice issued on May 18 to shareholders not to sell their shares, have been discontinued.
