Pensioner Flats
The council now had 118 pensioner flats occupied, and the contractor had moved on to the site for the construction of the first stage—26 out of 52 flats—at Mairehau, the County Clerk (Mr J. Reid) told the Waimairi County Council. Applications were being received for tenancies. He said that last year, the council received $19,904 in rents from its four groups of flats, but it would appear that the $5276 credit in the account would not be enough for maintenance work.
