MEDAL PROSPECT

The New Zealand 4000 metre pursuit champion. B. G. Stockwell, is considered one of New Zealand's best prospects for a medal at the Commonwealth Games at Edinburgh. Stoekwell is ranked second la the Commonwealth be-

hind the English pursuit champion, I. Hallam. Still only 20, he appears to have untapped potential both as a track and road rider. He is likely also to prove valuable to New Zealand in the 120 mile road race at the Games.

He has entered for the World Cycling Championships to be held at Leicester, England after the Edinburgh Games. He is shown above on his way to victory in the Papanui Cycling Club’s 25 mile time trial championship recently.
