SUBURBS BEATEN
Blockhouse Leader
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. In a national league soccer match Blockhouse Bay gave Eastern Suburbs its first defeat of the season, 2-1, and so regained leadership of the league. The biggest club crowd of the season, exceeding 4000, saw Blockhouse deservedly win a fast, hard game because it mounted far more attacks.
I. Ormond and C. Campbell on attack, and H. Bough and the goal-keeper, J. Morris, on defence played best for Blockhouse.
G. York, P. Rennell, J. Staines and the goal-keeper, K. Harlock, stood out in the Suburbs team.
Score: Blockhouse Bay 2 a (P. Codd, C. Campbell), Sub- 2 urbs 1 (G. York).
