Strike Ends For Some

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, June 1.

About 1200 of the 7000 builders’ labourers in New South Wales who have been on strike for a month are back at work today. The state secretary of their federation, Mr J. B. Mundey, said last night that 147 builders had agreed to pay the S6-a-week wage-margin increase sought by the strikers. These employers would be able to receive materials and to take on as many men as they wanted, Mr Mundey said, but men still on strike would continue to occupy sites where employers refused to pay the increase and were working with non-union labour.

The strike stopped work on nearly all the major building projects in New South Wales.
