FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A large anticyclone to the east of the North Island extends over most of New Zealend but is moving slowly to the east; a strong north-westerly airstream over the Tasman Sea is spreading slowly on to the North Island. / Forecast: Canterbury and Kdikoura Coast.—Light to moderate winds mainly from the northerly quarter; fine with moderate afternoon temperatures. Central Marlborough, the Sounds and Nelson.— Northerly winds strong about the Sounds but moderate elsewhere, cloud generally increasing; moderate temperatui es. Buller and Westland.—Cloud increasing and patches of light rain developing during the day; light to moderate northerly winds; moderate temperatures.
