Two Courses Announced The politics of the contemporary Middle East, and France and regional writing are the topics of two lecture courses to be conducted by the Department of Extension Studies at the University of Canterbury during June. ; July and August. Both courses will be covered in 10 evening lectures. ; The course on the politics of! the Middle East will examine the origins and development of the Arab-Israeli conflict and great power rivalries in the region. The lecturer will be Dr R. R. McIntyre of the department of Political Science at the University of Canterbury. The course on France andi regional writing will study some of the regions of France! through selected regional: novels to illustrate the links between man and the land. The provinces to be covered are Britanny, Provence and Cevennes. The lecturer for this course .will be Mri E. D. Jones of the depart‘ment of Romance Languages. I
