NEW LINK TRAINER

A replacement link trainer for use by air traffic controllers has been installed at the Civil Aviation Division’s Aeronautical College at Christchurch Airport. It was bought by the division from the National Airways Corporation at Auckland.

According to the regional director of the division in Christchurch (Mr L. E. Duke) 'the trainer will replace one of war-time vintage that has been used at the college 'for many years and which | will now be sold by the Government Stores Board. I The later model is about 15 ; years old and was first used iby Air New Zealand (then [T.E.A.L.) before being sold to N.A.C.

It will provide air traffic controller cadets with aviation experience and supplement their six-week flying training course.
