SALE TO BREWERY

Hotel In Timaru s The Grosvenor Hotel, a leading hotel in Timaru. has been bought by Dominion Breweries, Ltd, of Auckland, the hotel’s proprietor (Mr E. D. McNeill) announced. The general manager of Dominion Breweries (Mr W. S. Otto) told “The Press" yesterday that the purchase includes a tavern property in the suburbs—which the Licensing Control Commission has approved as an extension of the present licence of the Grosvenor Hotel—when the project is completed. The consideration of the purchase was substantially the issue of shares in Dominion Breweries, Mr Otto said. The Press Association reports that the company will change the name of the hotel to the D.B. Grosvenor Hotel, and the tavern, construction of which is expected to start next week, will be known as the D.B. Tavern.
