WAITAKI SOLD

WELLINGTON, May 20.

The freighter Waitaki, sister to the Wainui, was sold at Wellington yesterday by the Union Steam Ship Company to a Panamanian-regis-tered Chinese shipping company, the Campagnie Maritima Ta Teh of Panama. The Waitaki. which was paid off last December, is expected to leave on Fridav for the Far East. It will load cargo in Australian ports. No cargo from New Zealand will be shipped. The Waitaki will be taken

away from Wellington by a crew of 34 Chinese under a Chinese captain.
