DUNEDIN. May 13. Values were similar to recent; levels in the prime cattle section at Burnside market this week. The yarding was made up «f tainjv light to medium sorts, nd there were more cewsj

han last week. A pen of heavy Friesian eross bullocks from T»|eri sold for $134. Another pen of Ansus :cross bullocks from Ida Valley! realised up to $192 and one bullock of exceptional size commanded spirited bidding lo> $197.

Veal values picked up again, recovering the $8 drop of last week. In the store cattle section values were steady on late rates.

Only a few dairy cows were varded and these sold from $7O to $143.

A few pens of exceptional quality were included in the pig department where values also remained firm.

In the prime lamb section values gained 70c. recovering some of last week’s drop, end in the prime sheep section, where competition was not very strong, hoggets eased by 30c and ewes were cheaper by 40c. Prices were:

Prime cattie: top bullock, i $l6B to $197; heavy. $152 to $165; I medium, sl3s to $149; light, $l2Ol to $130: unfinished. $lO9 to $ll7. | Top cow. $l2O to $131; medium. $lOO to $113: light $B9 to $94 i Venters: top. slos to sl2s; medium, $92 to $104; light. $7B to $B9; small, $56 to $69.

Store cattle: steer calves. $62: heifer calves, $56: two-year steers, $116: hejfers, X.W.8., $lO5.

Pigs: top baconer. $36: medium. $29 to $32. Top porker, $29; medium. $23 to $27: small. $l6 to $2l. Weeners. $6 to $ll. Lambs: top, $10.10; medium. $8.50 to ss.7o; light, $7.20 to $7.50.

Sheep: top hoggets. $10; medium. $9.20 to $9.40: light. $8 to $8.50: top ewes. $6.50 to M. 90; medium. $5.90 to $6.30; light. $5 to $5.20.
