EXTRADITION TREATY
U.S. Approval Expected
(N.Z. P. A. -Reuter—Copvriqht) WASHINGTON, May 21.1 An extradition treaty with New Zealand covering aircraft hijackings and narcotics offences appears likely to win Senate approval. Senator J William Fulbright, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, said after a hearing on the treaty: “I see it in no part objectionable." The treaty, signed in Washington on January 12, adds’ aircraft hijackings and of-1 fences relating to narcotics to I extraditable crimes. Mr John Stevenson, the State Department’s legal adviser, told the “The New Zealand treaty, we believe, is a very good one and a great improvement over existing arrangements. We have used it as a basis for negotiations with a number of other countries.”
