Press Association) WELLINGTON. | The Christchurch feather* weight, R Carstairs, beat K, Waters (Australia) by a t k o. in the second round of their brief but vigorous boxing bout last night It was Waters's first loss in eight professional fights. The Australian attacked strongly in the first round but was knocked back twice by Carstairs. The New Zealander was well ahead on points when, in the second round, he opened a cut over Waters’s left eye. The referee inspected the gash, sought a second opinion, and then declared Carstairs the winner.
