Pay Packets Stolen

Twenty-two pay packets containing a total of $302 were stolen from an office at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Wednesday. The money was to have been paid to staff of Crothall and Company, a commercial cleaning firm which is under contract to the North Canterbury Hospital Board. The pay packets were taken about 1.30 p.m. from a tin on a window sill in the office which is used by the firm. The theft was not reported until yesterday morning.
