Bruce Hotel Licence

An appeal has been lodged in the Supreme Court against a decision of the Licensing Control Commission on May 7 refusing an extension of the provisional hotel premises licence for the Bruce Hotel, Akaroa, beyond midnight yesterday. The grounds stated in the appeal are that the decision was erroneous in fact and in law.

On Wednesday afternoon the Canterbury Licensing Committee granted the hotel a temporary licence until June 30, or until the hearing of the appeal or until a further order is made by the chairman of the committee (Mr E. S. J. Crutchley, S.M.).
