Majority For New Plan (N Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 19. r ‘ The secretary of the Waterside Workers’ Federation (Mr J. E. Napier) announced <* today the results of last week's national ballot on new I conditions of work for water-. I siders. Mr Napier said that froflfr* 120 of 22 ports at which bat?/ Ilots were held 2440 favoured* the new proposals and 9<f* were opposed. Each of the 20 ports whicftvoted recorded a majority fq>the new conditions, but thr* actual majority varied a£» each port, he said. The non-participation in the* ballot of the Auckland Wellington unions was recttV.t ing the attention of the fed-. eration's national executivv£* he said.
