Social Credit Officers
The following officers were elected at the annual meeting of the Canterbury regional council of the Social Credit Political League:—
'President, Mr J. U. Barclay; vice-presidents, Messrs M. McConnell, and D. W. Parlane and Mrs A, Barrow; secretary-treasurer, Mr G. J. Butterfield.
Messrs Barclay and Butterfield were elected Dominion Councillors. Nominations from seven of the TO electorates within the region were presented. They were: Mr J. Pounsford (Sydenham), Mr,M. McConnell (Wigram), Mr I. W. Barrow : (Avon), Mrs L. Moore (Rangiora), Mr T. Huggins (Lyttell ton, Mr J. Fountain (St |Albans), and Mrs S. Fitchett | (Christchurch Central).
