GREYMOUTH, May 20.

A Napier firm wrote to the Runanga Borough Council this week saying that it required three men for cut ting and bending steel reinforcing. It said that it wanted to interview six to eight married men for the positions, and would send a representative to the West Coast for this purpose. The Mayor (Mr G. R. H Wright): “I don't think there is anyone crying out for work here.” Cr S. A. O'Neil commonted that it was nice of the firm to consider the people of Runanga, but that be did not feel that the Borough Council was an employment office.
