Contest For Linemen
I The John Scott Memorial ’Shield, awarded annually to i the winner of a linemen’s competition, was presented to a Darfleld gang for the second year in succession at a .meeting of the Central Canterbury Electric Power Board : yesterday. The team was Messrs J. Sheehan, A. Thomas, G. Cowan and D. Diedrichs. In addition to the shield, each man received a medal. The chairman (Mr P. G. Wederell) said the emphasis in line work was on safety, and the board did all it could to make working practices safe. Making the presentations, Mr W. H. Faulkner said the board’s efficiency depended on an efficient staff. The aboard was trying to give the best service, and looked to its staff to apply that effi--1 ciency.
