SIXTH-FORM ROLL DROPS
Concern By Aranui H.S. Concern at the number of sixth-form pupils who leave school early in the year was expressed at yesterday’s meeting of the Aranui High School Board. The headmaster (Mr W. .1. i A. Brittenden) was commenting on a drop in the sixthform roll which he said was a “worry." “Little support has come from the homes on these occasions," he said. In line with the development of common room and other special facilities (or sixth formers tlie board, on IMr Brittenden’s request, decided to ask the Department of Education for a grant of S3OO to provide furnishings for the new sixlh-form study j room. Referring to the impending retirement of Mr F. Spencer, the maintenance foreman for i the Christchurch Secondary Schools' Council, Mr Brittenden said that it was almost i impossible to exaggerate the ! value that Mr Spencer had i been to Christchurch secondary schools.
