Hearing On Bank Charges

Sir, —On March 9 the Trade Practices and Prices Commission commenced a hearing on a case brought l forward by the examiner! under the act. So far, I have, not seen any reports in “The Press” of what has occurred) during that hearing. Has “The Press” failed in its duty to its readers or has the commission found a way to hold its proceedings behind closed doors? In the latter case, is “The Press” going to submit to the gag being applied? Nihil utile quod non honestum.—Yours, etc., W. B. BRAY. Leeston, May 14, 1970. [The Trade Practices and Prices Commission began an inquiry into current account banking charges on March 9. The hearing was reported in “The Press” on March 10, 11. 12, 16, 17, 18, and 21. The commission reserved its decision on March 20. —Ed., “The Press.”]
